
Crownsville is a census-designated place in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. It is located just outside of Annapolis and has a small population of approximately 1,700 people across 5.1 square miles of land.
Although it’s small, Crownsville hosts some of the biggest events in the region. These include the annual Maryland Renaissance Festival over several summer weekends, the second largest of its kind in the nation, as well as the Anne Arundel County Fair each September.
Open, green country has drawn a number of residents to Crownsville over the years. The Eisenhower Golf Course is located in Crownsville, built in 1969 as Anne Arundel County’s first public course. The Generals Highway Corridor Park is open to the public, offering a nature trail and playing fields. Hikers and nature observers might take advantage of the Bacon Ridge Natural Area, 630 acres of protected land including forests and marshes.
